Mass Timber Tipping Point Reception

Mass timber industry leaders met during the IMTC 2025 in Portland, Oregon, for an exclusive report preview and reception event.

What insights can emerge from a year and a half of collaboration with diverse architecture and engineering firms who are each passionately dedicated to mass timber? What might this tell us about the state of sustainable building practices or the mass timber movement?

On Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, Pilot Projects and Architecture 2030 co-hosted a Mass Timber Tipping Point Reception at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland during the International Mass Timber Conference (IMTC). Attendees at the reception enjoyed an evening of thought-provoking discussion, professional networking, and a preview of the final project report. The Preliminary Report explored actionable strategies to replicate successes and overcome barriers in scaling mass timber as a mainstream construction material—advancing sustainability, innovation, and economic opportunities across North America's built environment.

Attendees included representatives from leading architectural and engineering firms, mass timber experts, and other key partners who have contributed to this transformative initiative.
